Mediterranean Glamping
Málaga, Spain, 2020 - ongoing
The intervention consists of a tourist accommodation complex
with didactic purposes linked to the sustainability of resources and
agricultural production methods. The needs and preferences of camping users
have undergone transformations in recent years, giving rise to the appearance
of "Glamping" or quality camping. This project aims to go one step
further, combining Glamping with "Agro-tourism." The objective is to
offer quality accommodation through an ecological camp with an architectural
design of passive strategies, complemented with environmental management
systems for resources and waste and meeting energy demands with renewable
energy.
Glamping is an economic support to local farming methods,
allowing them to compete with large consortia, thanks to the support provided
by tourism. This pairing manages to preserve the agricultural use of the environment,
complementing each other at a functional and commercial level.
